Night frost is an annually recurring concern for (fruit) growers, including blueberry growers. Traditionally, growers choose to irrigate their crop in order to prevent frost damage. Apart from the costs of irrigation, the risk of fertilizer leaching and higher disease levels are also disadvantages of this technique.
